Peak Oil Task Force

Peak Oil Task Force Report: Redefining Progress  can be found at http://bloomington.in.gov/peakoil

The article says that we may reach global peak oil with in 15 - 20 yrs! This task force is trying to find ways to mitigate oil use. The mitigation of oil use is important for many reasons which are not limited to: reducing pollution and the greenhouse effect, reducing dependence of foreign countries for energy and to reduce the use of a non-renewable source. These reasons aren't even taking in to account peak oil.  The scary part about this peak oil time line is that it falls right in the middle of my life-time.  I really don't want to think about how it will effect my life... All I can guess is that a complete change in energy use is needed ASAP to make the change from oil more smooth.

I like that Bloomington's task force is collaborating with other cities, after all, this is a global problem.
